2008 MDX with multiple defects
Pros: good interior design. roomy. confortable ride. powerful
Cons: very poor quality on details. Multiple defects with repeated repairs
I have the car for three months. Have gone back to the dealer for six times to repair multiple defects. Distorted mirror, warped gas lid, peeling roof molding and bad steering wheel. The quality of the car is very disappointing, unacceptable for any luxury vehicle. I advise anybody think twice to buy Acura MDX.

Better Value than Benz, BMW & Audi
Pros: Loaded with options, great handling, rock solid SUV.
Cons: Poor gas mileage, lack of standar exterior options (roof rails, body molding)
I had a V8 BMW X5 Sport & the 08 MDX is much better for the $$. Voice activated controls, great seat & settings memory. Comfortable ride, responsive acceleration, great handling. An awesome car all around!!! Navi is fast & accurate with real-time traffic. A must in Chit-cago traffic. Could use power folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers & better MPG. The only way I’d trade this in would be for a Hybrid MDX!!

Do not get the Tech Package
Pros: Excellent driving, nice & comfy interior
Cons: Navigation system is terrible, back-up camera has several lighting limitations, poor gas mileage
Love the performance of the car. Very quiet interior and comfortable, great sound system. However, I gave only 4 stars since the navigation package & back-up camera were not worth purchasing, should have stuck with the base model, would have been much happier. Navi system not user friendly at all, does not allow touch screen, archaic rotating dial to enter names/numbers, voice recognition is poor (makes tonne of mistakes), point-of-interests (POI) outdated or not able to find (we’re talking finding major stores/restaurants not esoteric small local restaurants, eg Toys-R-US, Home Depot, Earl’s restaurant etc, the Navi system could not find them), if search place by “name” the Navi system will not rank places according to distance (you end up finding a Home Depot that is 3000 miles away, instead of listing according to closest distance). I have a portable Garmin system, and can find stores way faster with the touch screen, and the Garmin has much better updated POI, and cost only $500. If I were to go on long trips now, I’ll have to bring my Garmin portable as well, since I can’t trust the Acura Navi system. The back-up camera can only be used in optimal lighting conditions. When I reverse the car first thing in the morning (cold day), the exhaust fumes covers camera and I can’t see. Or under direct rear sunlight, it completely overwhelms the camera. So you need optimal lighting, the back-up camera should have been included with back-up sensors as well (but this option would cost $1100 to install extra).

A Powerfull gas guzzler with good driving habits.
Pros: Handling,Drive comfort & performance,Good features,Front appearance.
Cons: Gas guzzler, driver seat comfort, rear doors hard to open for kids.
It must be the most appealing & futuristic front shape in the SUV-market. The SH-handling is very good but not as agile as BMW X5.
Acceleration is best in the class but becomes a gas guzzler as soon as you want power, I had previously owned BMW X5 & Subaru Tribeca, this one is the worst in fuel economy. Very good visibility all around. Good & functional voice recognition system. The SH torque meter is usefull . DEcent leg & arm room .Good sound system, the subwoofer bass hardly reaches the driver but is good for rear seat passengers. Very good & usefull options in AV system. The comfort/Sport mode gives me a very good suspension response for rough road & Highway High-speed handling since I moved from BMW X5, I would’nt want to drive this without sports mode. At Comfort mode drives like a limousine.
