Excellent all round package. Love the interiors, excellent build, very quiet, can’t hear the engine at all. Many times we think that the engine is off when parked just to find that it’s on. While driving, you can’t hear external noise or feel the transmission shifts. The 6 speed transmission is too good! Having said that, I would recommend using the sports mode while going up-hill to give it more torque.

Love the auto headlamps, the proximity key, the power liftgate, the Infinity 8 speaker sound system, the auto wipers and defoggers and so many thoughtfully included amenities which make driving and traveling in this vehicle so much fun.

I recommend this vehicle from my personal experience, to everyone! It’s complete value for money.
We’ve had this car for about 7 months now. We traded in our Nissan Pathfinder which was a terrible experience and we will never buy a Nissan again for sure. This Veracruz has a much better ride and better interior design. A friend who has a Lexus let us compare and we can see it is clearly a knock-off of the Lexus. In any event thats not a bad thing per se. Of course the quality is not the same and the matierals are not on the same level but design wise its a replica.

We noticed we only get about 14-15 miles per gallon which is well below the advertised MPG and it was really funny reading some of the crazy reviews bragging about 30 MPG. I really want to know what car they were reviewing because it is definitely not this one. Clearly, the Hyundai dealers/sales associates post their garbarge here so reader beware!

Looking up the depreciation rates on KBB, we found that this has already lost 31% of its value, the worst of any other make. It seems Hyundai still has a bad reputation and no one wants to buy a used Hyundai. The warranty does not transfer and it only covers the engine and transmission for 100k miles. We have already had a very bad experience at 2 different dealers. Customer service is not a term they understand and they charge you for any little thing they can find. Unethical to say the least. They did replace the throttle control and the fuel tank had a leak in the vacumn causing gas to drip when parked over night. The antiroll bar had to be adjusted as it began to loosen from the mounting causing a sea sick feeling and loss of control. Very dangerous.

In the end, the car is overall, ok but it lacks in refinement and reliability and when combined with the real factors of owning such as depreciation and a poor customer service rating, we found out the hard way that we made a serious mistake.

We traded in our BMW X3 for the 2007 Veracruz Limited. It was a great decision and one that we are proud to make. The ride is not as bumpy, kids are much more comfortable especially with the standard entertainment package, seats are soft and heated, the cabin is very quiet. The ride mimicks a first class airplane ride.

The value is great. With the amenities it offered, we would be spending $10,000-$15,000 in another brand name/status symbol vehicle.

We picked up this car at a steep discount from my husband friend who works at a Hyundai-Chrysler dealership. We didn’t bother shopping around because we got such a great deal- almost $12,000 off the original price. It only had 77 miles on it so it was brand new. We were at the Chrysler dealer next door but found nothing we liked there. Too bad. Although the ride is very smooth, this car tends to wallow and feel heavy in turns almost like it will tip over, especially when we have 4 kids and a full load of stuff. A big concern to us since safety is an issue. Our friend says Hyundai has a stability system that keeps it in line but also told us that they need to update the system dramatically. On the highway I find the tranny doesnt like to shift down when you really need the power to pass a truck. A hair raising experience to say the least. The interior is wonderful and warm- plenty of room for the kids and their stuff and very flexible. The seats are relaxing and we go 200 miles without much discomfort something we couldnt say of our Honda Pilot. I only wish it had a Navi system! Darn. This is a heavy CUV! I find the gas suffers though because it is so heavy, a sign they only added extra weight to make it safer, its not safer because of good design and engineering. The brakes are a problem area. Every 10K miles we replace the brakes and rotors at $700 a pop at the dealer. We only replaced our brakes on our Honda once. That should say something about the grade of materials used to build this thing. Not very encouraging when planning to keep it 4 years with 4 kids! The engine makes a ticking sound when it is cold and is slow to respond. The car was towed 2 times because the engine light came on and started blinking. Then all of a sudden a cloud of smoke poured out the back like the car was on fire. The dealer replaced something big in the engine because they needed 4 days to fix it! The remote fob also did not work all the time and it was reprogrammed 4 times. The gas mileage is not another strong point. We only get about 240 miles out of a tank which equals out to 14 miles per gallon. Maybe we should call Green Peace on this one. The interior is mostly well built but the materials wear out fast. The leather is cracked already. The arm rests are worn and old looking. The steering wheel is peeling and the sun visors are loose. Its starting to feel old. There is also a very musty smell when the AC comes on. I just dont know why. My view point-I would NOT recommend this vehcile to anyone and we are looking to sell it soon.

My wife and I won this car at a local raffle for a childrens hospital and were one of the first people to have one in New Jersey. We actually were in the market for an SUV when we got the call that we won so it worked out. We’re just glad we didn’t have to pay for it.

We like the comfy seats which are easy to adjust and the room all around.

Overall the layout is good and on par with the build quality of materials of the Ford Edge and Saturn Vue.

We drove from NJ to AZ in 100+ heat and the A/C worked great.
The ride is pretty smooth and its quiet inside. The only problem with noises came from the windshield which whistles around 50mph and the transmission which makes groaning sounds under acceleration. Otherwise its quiet and comfortable.

We were surprised to see the gas go so fast especially in the city when it returned only 13-14 miles per gallon. On the highway we saw a couple times 19 but mostly 16-17 at 65mph. Not very good.

We are not impressed with the reliability and warranty coverage. On
our trip to AZ, we had to have the car towed to a dealer when it refused to start after refuelling. Dealer said the gas sensor was defective. OK not that a big of problem, but annoying, and it left us stranded without a loaner car. So we had to rent a car for a day. When we got it back, the dealer said it needed an oil/filter/tuneup (with only 3500 miles?) and we had to cough up a heart stopping $520 for this service! My wife made a lot of noise saying we wouldn’t pay so the service manager gave us $200 off. We left very upset. Thank God the rest of the trip was without incident because we wouldn’t pay again!

Once again in September the car needed to be towed when the transmission would not shift out of park. This time again, the dealership where we got the car, charged us a painful $850 (!!!) for a brake pad service, oil/filter/tuneup/inspection all required under the so called “best warranty”. crap!! If we owned a Toyota and got an extended warranty for 10 years 100,000 miles it would cost less than the money we paid to have this serviced and we probably would not need to use the warranty so often!

Now its Janurary and time to write our review - a real review from real people not some dealer pumping his product. Overall an OK product with some quality problems and a dealer network bent on sucking money out of customers.

Some additional problems we had encountered so far- broken rear window wiper arm broken in a car wash, defective window defroster element, defective driverside power seat motor and front door seals that have worn down to nothing and leak in the car wash.Rear wiper arm broke in car wash. Some button/control faces worn down to black plastic. Arm rest vinyl worn down to rubber like texture. Rear door latch ceased. Passenger side mirror motor burned out.

Also, this car cannot be compared to a Lexus like the dealers like you to think- quality is too low. Lexus has real wood- this one fake wood. Lexus has real leather on seat back and arm rest, this has vinyl that looks terrible after some use. The Lexus is, well a Lexus and this is a “Hyundai”. Yes the Lexus costs a little bit more, but you also get what you pay for.

BTW a Buick Enclave costs $40k fully loaded, this Veracruz had a sticker of $44k. Not really that great of a value considering the Enclave is a superior vehicle. Interestingly, the Toyota Highlander is $3k cheaper than the Hyundai and has much better resale value.

We are glad we didn’t buy it and would never buy a Hyundai. Hope this helps.

PS This is the 7th time writing this review because the unethical dealers don’t want you to know the truth so they delete this review. Buyer Beware! I will now post this review on every webiste I can find if this is deleted one more time.
