2009 Audi A4

2009 audi a4 picturesAn all-new 2009 Audi A4 goes on sale this spring. Revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show, Audi’s volume model looks similar to the successful 2005-2008 models it will replace. However, it is a totally new structure packed with new engineering. The styling of the upcoming model reminds us of skin pulled tighter over the muscles and bones, and it favors the beautiful new A5 coupe.

The upcoming A4 gets an all-new body made of steel that is stiffer and lighter than that of the previous car.

It’s a bigger car, almost five inches longer in overall length and more than two inches wider than the outgoing model, and it rides slightly lower. The wheelbase has increased 6.6 inches in length to 110.6 inches, which is only 1.5 inches shorter than the wheelbase of the bigger A6 model. Therefore, overhangs are shorter, which is a sign of solid engineering and theoretically benefiting handling. It also results in a more aggressive appearance.

Q:Is the Audi R8 coming out this year or next year. If anyone get’s one on can you send me pictures? I’ll never even get close to enough money to get one of those. Anybody know of any big up and coming sports cars?
Other than the R8?
What do you think of the R8?
I think it’s going to be hard for companies like Lamborghini and McLaren to compete with Aud in sports cars now.

A:I think Audi has done a good job with the R8 but it will not be a big competition for Lamborghini, McLaren, Ferrari as they have been in the sports car business for years and have really earned a good name and peoples trust of providing good sports cars. Lamborghini, McLaren and Ferrari are synonymous with sports cars and fast cars, however if Audi continues such good work then it is possible for it to pose a challenge to Lamborghini, McLaren……..

Um…you do know that Audi wholely owns Lamborghini now, right? They even share engines in some cars. That being said, I don’t think the R8 is intended to compete with ferrari, but rather porsche.

Audi actually own Lamborghini, and have done for a while, Look at the inside of a top of the range audi & lambo alot of the trim is the same, they both use the same 4 x 4 running gear as well like the R8, but I must point out something. Audi doesn’t own Lamborghini, VolkswagenAG does.

I like the R8, but I must point out something. Audi doesn’t own Lamborghini, VolkswagenAG does.

VolkswagenAG also owns Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Seat, Skoda and of course Volkswagen. Also, Porsche is not owned by them, they actually own about 30% of Volkswagen AG.

Yes, the R8 is already hurting Porsche, Ferrari and Lambo sales. Most exotics have huge running costs, and are (with the exception of Porsche) generally not reliabel enough to survive daily use and normal mileages.

A clutch on an F430 will rarely last 20k km - and can cost €3-5K to replace - a regular service on a Gallardo costs as much as a small car and so on. The R8 runs the same engine and transmission components as the RS4 - so you get regular Audi quality and reliablity and any Audi dealer or specialist will service it - more expensive than a normal Audi but nowhere near exotic costs.

Add to that it is genuinely comfortable, practical and will easily take daily use - its the kind of car that makes a watershed shange to a segment. It’s like the NSX or E-type.
