This SUV rides nice in the city and is a very comfortable highway truck. Space is good in back and storage space is also good. Overall this is a great SUV. 4×4 system is easy to use and works great. Towing capacity is good and ours came with the tow package standard. You also get onstar for free for a year. At least give it a test drive if thinking of buying this type of vehicle. Check out rebates before buying. We saved $4000.00.

Tahoe is a great vehicle in the first place but with the hybrid, you get great fuel economy for a SUV, and still have the capacity to tow, or store quite a lot of people or gear. The driver info readout is wonderful. It tells you at all times if you are in hybrid mode (if the electric motor is running) or not. Additionally it gives you a running total of how your fuel economy is and how close you are from shifting from the electric motor to the gas motor. Probably more importantly, the shifting is barley noticeable. If it were not for the screen telling you which mode you were in, you wold not be able to tell. Only thing I don’t completely care for is a few too many hybrid badges on it. Great vehicle and great piece of engineering!

The best SUV at any price
“My last Tahoe, 2001 LS, had 180,000 miles and only required a waterpump. I loved the truck but I had some air conditioning problems and decided to get the new generation Tahoe LT1 Special Edition. This car is outstanding and is greatly improved from the 01, a truck I loved.
Only complaint is that I have not yet been able to get over 18.5 MPG.”

The fact the seats do not fold down flat is the biggest irritation and sufficient to pass on this vehicle if you can replace with one that does not have this ….have to call it a joke of a cargo area. If you need cargo space you have to remove all the seats except the front ones to load and unload with ease and to take advantage of the space available.

The Pontiac Aztec should have been made a hybrid and what success would have it brought about. Look at the Toyota Prius, it looks like the Pontiac Aztec and people like its styling, even it looks ugly, just because it is a hybrid and it’s a Toyota!
